Day 275 - 1st October 2013 - Morning on the lake

Welcome October - even though it's a rainy day. The lake has dropped and we can use the rain, better during the week than on the weekend. With the rain comes mild temperatures, +15.1. When I woke up this morning, was sure it was Wednesday, then realized it was only Tuesday - off to work I go. I've only got this week and next week, then I'm off for the winter. The pay sucks but I'm ready for a break. Then it's my yearly purge and fall cleaning. Doesn't sound like much fun but once in a while I like the physical work rather than the brain work.
Had a decent start to the week yesterday, some research worked on and a few other things done. It was nice on my morning walk, lake was perfectly calm, could hear the rooster up the road waking everyone up. Rain didn't start until after supper. Leftover turkey for supper, thinking of turkey soup and homemade brown bread rolls for Wednesday. Larry's in charge of supper Tuesday night. Exercise class last night - another hard workout. Boy I dislike jumping jacks. Oh well what doesn't kill us makes us stronger right?
I should have gone out a bit earlier and caught the fiery red sky but I like these almost as well.

It was a morning for perfect reflections.

I'm sure the colors are turning more each day.

Enjoy your day!

  2. There are some days it is proper to just stand and reflect... perhaps this day the lake has a message for us all.... and the wages.. well, I can speak from experience that it does prepare us for the sparsity of retirement. May the joys of service to others outshine the disappointments of the moments. Blessings!

  3. Beautiful photos and not a bird to be found!! I enjoyed the drive through Caledonia yesterday en route to Berwick....I think I met three cars the whole way until I reached the 101. The trees are changing and a great drive to reflect!! I hope you are having a good day
