Day 197 - 15th July 2013 - Fog and Birds

Once again Monday has reared it's ugly head. Why do weekends have to roll by so fast? Best just suck it up and move on. Thick fog out there this morning, but it's suppose to burn off and should be another hot day. Now they are giving showers/rain for most of the week. We'll see what happens, as we all know they can't predict well from one day to the next let alone a week in advance. Lots to do this week - launching the book on Sunday so I need to get that up and running, venue is booked, some advertising in place, have to get some posters up in the next few days.
Well I didn't get the reading done I was suppose to do yesterday but it was just too nice to sit and concentrate. I started out at 7am haunting the hood, great time of the day, no one much is up that early on a Sunday morning except for me. So I was free to sit in the woods making my funny little noises in hopes of coaxing out a few birds and it actually worked. By the time I headed home, the folks at one of the cottages were having breakfast outside so I stopped, had coffee and a chat with them. I managed to get home 2 1/2 hours later. Larry had gotten up and was outside in the woodpile yet again, well he's been managing to get a load done it gets too hot. Cooked a roast for supper, not my smartest moment since the temperature was already about +35 C, oh well won't have to cook Monday night.
Heavy mist rollling up off the water early yesterday morning.
Streaks of pink in the sky reflect in the lake.

The Red Eyed Vireo sings to me most mornings I walk by his tree.
My funny "pishing" brought this little Yellow-Throated Warbler. Actually he looks like a bandit.
And a young female American Redstart. I've seen the male before but this was a first.
Female Yellow-Rumped Warbler (Myrtle).
The ever faithful Song Sparrow, usually they will pose with little begging from me.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Can't believe you actuall she a "first bird stalking\sighting". Well they are growing on me. I counted 8 robins this morning and the deer were hanging out by the trees probably waiting fir us to leave.
