Day 132 - 12th May 2013 - Birds, Flowers, Merganser and Babies

Happy Mother's Day! I have a great Mom and will drop in later today to see her. I slept in a bit this morning - made up for yesterday morning! Looks like it's going to be another wet day - really wet by the forecast so it will certainly be an inside day. Have a turkey to roast for supper, so that will look after most of the meals this week. Might even tackle putting away some heavy clothes and bringing out some lighter weight stuff. I usually do it around the long weekend but today will work.
Saturday was foggy, turned sunny and then rained. You know the old saying - if you don't like the weather wait 5 mins and it will change. Larry worked in the wood pile and I buzzed around the house in the morning after I went out for a good walk. It was quiet around the lake, not much activity at all, but then  you couldn't see much through the fog. Lunchtime we headed off to Yarmouth, picked up some of the things we were looking for then went out to supper. We ate at Joanne's Quick N Tasty - used to be part of the Harris' a number of years ago and was taken over by an employee around 2006. It was good we had the seafood combos - Scallops and Clams for me, Scallops and Shrimp for Larry. Had some thunder and lightning around 9pm and a very disturbed Lexi!
 Harriett who follows me about.
A bit of morning dew along with the fog.
Another wild violet.
Another few days and they will be uncurled.
Rhodora is in bloom, part of the Rhododendron family, only it grows wild usually along the water.
 Thick fog.
 Jolly Jump Ups.
 More fog.
Wonder how much that Blue Jay can get in his beak.
My first sightings of Mother and babies - Common Mergansers.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Gotta love Harriet and you are right a "tick" fog. I just got up made my coffee fed the critters and sitting to read my blog. Have a great day and enjoy your visit with your Mom as she is pretty darn special ;)
