Day 203 - 22nd July 2015 -Cobwebs, Ducks, Hermit Thrush and Grandmother's Journal.

Day off from work, but lots to do around here. Looks like we are going to have a little rain today and possible thunder showers this afternoon. Repeat of Tuesday perhaps. I'll try dashing between raindrops and getting out for my jaunt this morning. Other than that it will be housework and editing photos.
Tuesday was another busy day at the office, more researchers and one group took me to lunch. Nice to put a face to some that I've been in email contact with for a number of years. Thankfully the humidity dropped yesterday and the air cooled some.
Grandmother's Journal:
21 Jul 1976: Early when I got up, beautiful morning. Became overcast around noon, light rain all afternoon and evening. Home 5 o'clock tonight. Bobbie, Bettie up with a barrel of gas for us. Fran in store to see me this noon. Good to see her she looked well. See rabbits each way to and back from town.
22 July 1976: Came out a beautiful day. Early 4:30 when I got up, raining. Fallish. No game on road, rabbits on the way home. Tom is wonderful. Lots of peas now. Garden very slow, planted so late. Blue potatoes for supper. Real good not too bad for size. Swallows not around right now, White-throated Sparrow singing tonight. Seems to be a few Robins around.
Grandmother had a great ear for the bird songs.

Cobwebs hang between the branches in the morning. Like beads all on a string.
This family seems to have done well. They are growing quickly and I'm amazed she's kept all 10 of the ducklings.

Once again it wasn't a great morning for photos - Palm Warbler.
Hermit Thrush.

Enjoy  your day!
