Day 185 - 4th July 2015 - Lighthouses, Yellow Warbler, Loon and Common Eiders

It's Saturday and going to be a nice one.  Moon is shining brightly, heard the Owl hooting way up the road. It's been awhile since I've heard him. I'm definitely heading out somewhere this morning. Beach I think and better make it early before the are all filled with people. Need to finish off some grocery shopping to, just picked up a few things not available here yesterday.
Larry and I had a little road trip Friday - off to Digby to the Scrap & Metal Depot. Sun came out and was warm, beautiful day for travelling. We like to go up the back road, stopped at Bear Brook, saw Yellow Warblers, lots of Tree and Bank Swallows, Cedar Waxwings and heard a Hermit Thursh and something I didn't recognize. Onward through Weymouth and then to Digby. Did a little shopping and headed back toward Yarmouth along the coast. Lots of beautiful scenery. A quick stop at Dayton and then we were travelling home again through the back road.
Gilbert Cove Light - one of my favourite spots to stop and roam.

Yellow Warbler - saw lots of these little guys.

Travelling in formation.
Loon - he was hanging out with the Eiders.
There were 6 Common Eiders all changing to their adults colors.
For the life of me I can't remember if we saw this little lighthouse in Saulnierville or Metegan but somewhere along the shore.
We stopped at Malivette Beach - there were lots of people enjoying the warm day.
Several Great Blue Herons were hanging out in ponds.

Enjoy your day!
