Tuesday, Larry is off today as it's Remembrance Day. I'm going to let him and Lexi sleep in a little longer then get them mobile. After breakfast we are going to head to Cape Sable Island, hopefully will meet up with some other birders and find the Dark-morph Snow Goose and see what else we can find. I'd like to get one of those Orange-crowned Warblers, but you never know what you will find. We'll aim to be home after lunch/early afternoon, Larry has some things in they yard to do and I want to do up a casserole for Wednesday and Thursday nights suppers since I'm gone both days.
I didn't think Monday was going to be much of day, just the norm with some jaunts in the hood but it actually turned out really great! I got the dough done up and set to raise for the cinnamon rolls, did my walk and was starting some housework when the alarm went up - Cattle Egret in Sandy Point!! Oh my - it's in my friend's yard. I'm house bound with no wheels since Larry's gone to work but Kathy comes and gets me - the chase is on. Of course he had left their yard but we located him a few houses up the road and I was able to get photos. On the way through town heading home we spied another one! A few loops around streets and we've got him. I have traffic stopped but I get a few shots of that one two. Thanks Kathy for a great adventure and being the getaway driver. Birding is great fun! The rest of the day was pretty quiet - finished the cinnamon rolls, got supper underway, walked Lexi and went to exercise class last evening. I still have this cold but not letting it get in my way, Larry's improving as well.
The clouds were skimming across the blue sky.
It was a perfect morning for great reflections in the lake.
The Evening Grosbeaks have returned to the feeders - there were these 2 males and 3 females.
Butterflies and Dragonflies were still around.
The Cattle Egret - small but handsome.
Rather exciting to have another lifer added to my list and to see two separate ones on the same day!
This was the second one we saw.
Enjoy your day!
Ha ha two bird brains oops typo I meant two birders on the hunt. Glad you had fun!! Nothing exciting for me other than an eagle late yesterday afternoon in front of the house..
