Day 97 - 7th April 2014 - Beaches, Ducks and Song Sparrows

Here we are at Monday morning again - the day I can manage to sleep til 6 am but not on the weekend - go figure! Suppose to be a fine day but lots of rain tomorrow, so I'll take advantage of the sunshine and spend a lot of the day outside. Tomorrow will be good to finish off the spring cleaning. Another week or two and I'm back to work. The winter months have been rough but gone by quickly just the same.
Sunday was nice but not as warm as Friday, but no complaints from me - there was sun! The temperature went up to +7, but it was windy which cooled things done. Had a big breakfast then I headed off for my walk after throwing in a load of laundry. Quiet in the hood - all the regulars  around - ducks but not much else. We got ready and headed out to Roseway, Round Bay, Red Head made the loop to Ingomar and up through North West Harbour and Port Clyde. Stopped at Thomson's for a Sundae - my first hot fudge of the season- yum, then headed home to have the turkey we cooked yesterday for supper. Didn't see much - lots of Mallards, Black ducks and gulls around. Spotted a few Common Eiders and Song Sparrows but nothing of an exciting nature. It was still good to get out and around.
A little ice in the ditches yesterday morning.
Caught these two coming from Lois' place, guess they were looking for breakfast but no one was up yet.
Two Male Mallards were vying  for the attention of  a Female. It's that time of year.
Lots of big fluffy clouds in the sky.
Spotted a couple of female Common Eiders at Crane's Point.
 Surf and Spray.
The wind was blowing the sand toward the water, make cool patterns.
I'm a sucker for old wood.

A rather shy Song Sparrow, had to follow his singing to find him.

Enjoy your day!
