Day 110 - 20th April 2014 - Waves, Sparrow, Patridge and Fences

Happy Easter folks. Looks like another fine day, temperature is up to +4.2 this morning. I guess we will probably stay home this morning and get some things done outside. Can't' believe the weekend has flown by so quickly. We are off to Mom and Dad's this afternoon for dinner. Maybe we will take a short run somewhere after we eat - never know.
It was warmer yesterday and a lot less wind. We headed off to Cape Sable Island after breakfast. First stop the Hawk Point Beach - beautiful spot but didn't see anything there so headed over to Daniel's Head Beach. Walked a good portion of the beach but once again nothing. I did see a Ipswich Sparrow on the way back to the truck. Rather disappointed but this is the way of birding - sometimes  you see them all other times nothing.  Off to Barrington we went to get groceries then back to Shelburne to finish off and do our Easter bunny shopping. Chocolate is good. Put a trifle together when we got home and checked out the hood - pretty quiet there to. We had a fabulous evening in Upper Clyde - supper with good friends - old and new. It's been too long since we've gotten together and it was such an easy group of people to spend the evening with. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Some of the rocks at Hawk Point Beach.
Looking up the beach - the tide was on it's way in.
 Cormorant walking on water.
Hiding in the grasses is an Ipswich Sparrow.
Chickens - I'm getting desperate for birds!
Amazing how a little sun and they are really starting to open up and come out from under the leaves.
 Squirrel
 Ruffed Grouse.
 I love old fences.

Enjoy your day!
