Day 347 - 13th December 2015 - Northern Harrier, Sharp-Shinned Hawk and Turkey Vultures

Looks like another nice day in the making, stars are all out this morning. Slept better/longer so I should be geared for a busy day. Larry and Lexi are going off to get a tree, which will give me an opportunity to scrub up some floors. Got the normal Sunday cooking to do for lunch boxes this week. Decorations will go up, some more wrapping to do and a box to pack up to mail off tomorrow. Larry wants to get the rest of the stuff on the roof that melts ice - that should guarantee a mild winter.
We had a full Saturday - turned out to be a beautiful and very mild. People were actually shopping and wearing flip flops. Guess we truly do live in the banana belt. After making a few stops and getting a couple of errands done in town we headed to Cape Sable Island once again in search of the Mountain Blue Birds - picked up Cal on route but still no luck. Have decided that's not my bird to get! We had a fun outing even though it was short. Once the holidays are over there will be more time (hopefully the weather remains mild) for winter birding. Did see a Sharp-shinned Hawk, Norther Harrier, Turkey Vultures and Gulls. Then off to Barrington, got our shopping done and homeward bound. I'm certain come January 1st, I'm only buying bread, milk and eggs for the rest of the winter. The freezer is full to the top.

The Northern Harrier was hunting at Daniel's Head. Pretty cool to watch.

Still lots of red berries around.
Caught this Sharp-Shinned Hawk just as he was turning to fly off.
Lots of waves at Daniel's Head Beach.

A number of Turkey Vultures were at North East Point.

Enjoy your day!
