Day 216 - 4th August 2015 - Catbird, Black & White Warbler, Common Yellow-Throated Warbler and Turkey Vulture

Tuesday and back to the office, been a nice break from there. Lots to do, summer student will be done in a few weeks and I still have a few things for him to finish up. A chance of thundershowers this afternoon. We lucked out with perfect weather on the long weekend. A little rain certainly won't hurt now, although I prefer to see it overnight.
A great day at home, like having an extra Wednesday. Roamed the hood some, nothing outstanding,  a few birds around - Magnolia Warbler, Hermit Thrushes, Song Sparrows, Red Eyed Vireos, Yellow-Rumped Warblers, Black & White Warblers, Common Yellow Throats, Nuthatches, Chickadees and Catbirds. After supper a Turkey Vulture flew over the house - that was pretty exciting since I've not seen one here before. Roasted a chicken in the oven, made muffins and salmon cakes before noon. Figured since it was shaping up to be another hot day I'd run the oven in the morning before the house heated up.
The Catbird is getting pretty friendly. Saw another one over on the private road.

Common Yellow-Throated Warbler, he has such a cool little black mask.

Not a great shot, but pretty funny - coming in for a landing - Chickadee.

Black & White Warbler found a fly on the power line.
Damselfly on the Phlox.
Turkey Vulture - I was a little surprised.

Enjoy your day!
