Day 359 - 25th December 2014 - Junco, Blue Jays, Goldfinches and a Red Breasted Nuthatch

Merry Christmas to all my friends and readers near and far. Will be a busy day of food and family. Soon Larry and I will open our gifts then we'll head to Mom and Dad's for breakfast and watch them open theirs. It's been our tradition for many years that Mom and Dad's house is the hub of activity on Christmas Day where all the family gathers. Over the years we've seen the family grow with grandchildren, then shrink as the grandparents past on. I've been lucky to have had both sets for many years and they were also able to enjoy great grandchildren. It's a day of family and good food, laughter and love.
Larry and I had a quiet anniversary - well really what do you do on Christmas Eve. Even though I had a number of days of panic about getting things finished, I ended up with a day of pure inactivity - lazing around, reading and doing a few dishes. Life is good! A few friends dropped in late in the afternoon and Larry cooked lobster for supper. It's been a good week for that. We went to church in our little community Church up the road. A lovely service of fellowship and music put together by the community.
Raven (I think) and Blue Jay in the background.
A little foam along the shore.
The feeders were busy - Junco.
 Cheeky Beggar!
Larry put wire around this feeder to keep out the big birds and Squirrels. The Goldfinches were quite thankful.
 Mourning Dove.
 Red Breasted Nuthatch.
They've figured it out!

Enjoy your day!
