Day 357 - 23rd December 2014 - Gulls, Canada Geese and a Goldfinch

Sounds like  a little little snow/rain today, temperature definitely feels cooler this morning. Have to deliver the rest of our gifts, tidy up the house and that's it - I'm ready for Christmas. I have to remember to put Lexi's stuff in her stocking - she always likes opening her things Christmas morning, but I have to hide it till the time. She snoops! It's also almost the end of another month and year.
Monday was a nice day - did some deliveries (mostly the food tins) around town. Then we headed toward Lockeport in search of whatever we could find.  Drove down the East Jordan Breakwater road and not a thing in sight - no loons, cormorants or anything. We went down the West Head Road, called for Chickadees - there are always Chickadees - nothing. Stopped at Lockeport Beach - Gulls and in the Back Harbour - a number of Canada Geese. Not a loss all together. Back home we went, got a fire going in the furnace, had a late lunch of lobster sandwiches, some cake and ice cream for supper. Yeah our eating habits are going down hill really fast! We'll straighten back out next week!
A few of what remains from the old breakwater in East Jordan.
Gulls are kind of handsome - need to figure out what's what this winter.

A few waves at Lockeport Beach.

Some of the Canada Geese.

Catching lunch, I think, he was cool to watch.

Back home, the Goldfinches at stopped in.

Enjoy your day!
