Day 226 - 13th August 2012 - Blackberries, Caterpillars and Woodpecker

It's Monday, the start of the work week once again! Lots to do on the list of fun and not so fun things. Need to finish up merging and sorting newspapers this morning, then onward and upward. It feels like a good week!

Another weekend has passed. Spent most of yesterday with my head in the oven, well not literally but you know what I mean. Cakes and turkey - good way to heat up an already warm house, but we had a great supper with oodles of veggies out of the garden. Rain off and on yesterday and humidity still high.
Checking to see what Grandmother's journals say:
12 August 1972:
Nice day early in the day, clouded over in the afternoon. Quite a pretty sunset, different with grey colors and blues. Worked all day at something. No word from Al expect there is no change yet. Kim read and I knit on dolls coat in my spare time and evening. [She always knit me clothes for my dolls - I still have a few of those outfits]. Twilight double header [Boston Red Sox baseball]. They won one and lost one. stayed up until nearly 12 o'clock.
13 August 1972:
Looked like rain all day. Sun came through a couple of times in the afternoon late. Bob and Bettie came up with the boys to stay and Kim went down to Welshtown Lake to stay with Anne and Mother. They stayed for dinner but went home early. Al about the same, Fran thinks a little better if anything. Bob  gone to bed with a pill and hot water bottle. I'm worried skinny. Kim plans to come back Friday. Not minding the dieting so much. Only lost 12 lbs can't seem to lose more.

Blackberries are almost ready to pick.
The causeway from the Park to the Island.
Caterpillar nest, they are just gross really, aren't they?
I've forgotten what flowers these were, but the berries are a spectacular blue.
She was enjoying a little snack as the sun was going down.
Well that's it for today, time finish off this coffee and wake the rest of the house. Enjoy your day!
