Day 225 - 12 August 2012 - Shags, Tree Stumps and the Harbour

Sunday, another overcast looking morning. The weather forecast is for drizzle, showers, clearing later this afternoon. Sounds a lot like yesterday. I'm kitty sitting this weekend so have to check on them this morning too. They are good little creatures and don't require much - some food, treats and one likes me to spend a few minutes visiting. She gets lonely when her owner is away. The other one is getting more use to me, at least doesn't run and hide anymore. Have a turkey to roast this afternoon, and I called Larry's brother and invited him for supper tonight. We've all been busy this summer, so we'll have a chance to catch up. Should make something for dessert to, maybe a cranberry/blueberry cake and that will look after the lunch box this week.

The rain stopped yesterday around noon, but it remained muggy and foggy most of the day. Caught up on the laundry and a few things around the house, then headed to town. Checked out an auction going on in town for a few minutes, got groceries and went to the Islands Park to visit friends and give them some veggies from the garden. They've been  camping all week in their "camper" [well mini home really, but we won't talk about that - Ha!HA!].
Lots of Shags, hanging out on the rocks in the harbour.
Some interesting tree stumps around the park.
Looking across the harbour toward Dock St. The Barrel Factory in foreground, Cooper's Inn (middle), The Old Post Office behind.
I love these little covered picnic tables that are scattered throughout the park.
Up sided tree stump.
Lots of moss blowing in the wind from this tree. Still foggy in the harbour.
A few boats were out, taking advantage of the break in the weather.
Well, guess it's time for another coffee and figure out where to start this morning. Enjoy your day!
