Day 167 - 16th June 2015 - Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Sailboat, Dory and Lady Slipper

So I've been up since 3:30 am - that promises to make for a long day. My knee was throbbing so a hot water bottle is hopefully the solution, icing it last night didn't do the trick. I sat on the deck and listened to the dawn songs of the birds - Song Sparrow, Hermit Thrush and Red-Eyed Vireo. No Owl this morning. Drizzle and rain in the forecast for today - guess I better take my umbrella along.
Yesterday, things were marginally better than last Monday - some days never seem to want to leave  you alone. Things have a way of resolving themselves but I'm impatient and prefer it to happen immediately. I am making some headway with the book - if all goes well that will leave me next week but not before a lot of hours have passed by. Exercise class last night, a good work out.
Mist was rolling off the lake yesterday morning.
I spied a Yellow Rumped Warbler catching breakfast.
The lake was calm, once the mist lifted in the coves it was a good morning for reflections.
Seems to be a good year for Lady Slippers - lots of them through the woods.
There were 4 squirrels running up and down the branches of one tree - probably young ones.
The Dory is anchored in the Harbour.
Nice to see a Sailboat too.

Enjoy your day!

  1. We drove out to the cottage last week and I couldn't believe the ladies slippers around the cottage. In places I've never seen them before. They were so tiny and beautiful. I wonder how they spread because they were in the most unusual places.
