Day 24 - 24th January 2015 - Sunrise, Bling, Goldfinches and Blue Jay

Temperature is right on 0, so it's pretty mild. Larry and Lexi have to go in search of some ice today if we are making ice cream tomorrow. I'm making a big pot of chili, it's best on the second day anyway after the flavours have all melted together. Probably a good day to put some more wood in the basement, seems to be holding out well. Of course I say that and February we could use up twice as much as normal. You can never tell.
Friday was a beautiful day to end the week - bright sunshine, temperature rose to -3, with only a little chill in the air. It's been great for walking the last few days, most of the ice has disappeared underfoot, just a few patches around. Sounds like some bad weather on the way for late today/tonight - but for us I think it will be mostly rain. It's been that kind of winter. We went in and did grocery shopping after supper last night - actually it wasn't all that bad till I got to the check out - that child made my brain tired.  The stars were all out last evening and boy could you hear the lake groaning and growling. In the evening or early morning when it's quiet around it just echos all around.
The morning sun breaks through the trees.
Rays of Bling on the Cranberry ditch.
With the sun shining it was a good morning for Bling.

Too cold for the Hammock, yesterday. Will be a few more months.
Terrible photo, but all those dots in the trees are Goldfinches. There were about 40-50 around the feeders a good part of the day.
The Three Amigos or Stoogies.
Blue Jay.

Enjoy your day!
