Day 7 - 7th January 2017 - Blue Jays, Mourning Dove and Snow

Nor'easter on it's way for later today! That's the wind that brings storms so it's batten down the hatches, fill up a few jugs for water and watch the snow as it falls later today. Temperature is -6.  Hard to believe we are expecting a storm - the stars are out and it's so quiet and peaceful this morning. Mother Nature and her weather can be deceiving and change in the blink of an eye. Friday was interesting, did the normal quick clean around, a little sewing then a friend arrived for coffee and to pick up a box of paint I had. While chatting we looked out and my neighbour's animals (horses and donkeys) had escaped (fence board had broken) - lots of fun in the country. I raised the alarm and she got them all corralled before they went far. They like the grass in our yard so we are the normal place to go! A lazy afternoon of reading, tea and eating chocolates. Not such a great idea as I bounced off the walls and ended up out for a walk after supper to burn off a little of that excess sugar. Today and/or tomorrow should be good to try out our new snow shoes. First a trip to town for a few groceries.
Winter time is when I truly appreciate the bright blue plumage of the Blue Jays.

A Mourning Dove rests on the fence.

The fencing fills up with snow - light and fluffy.

Enjoy your day!
