Day 98 - 8th April 2015 - Goldfinches, Pine Siskins, Crocuses and a Woodcock

Looks like it could be a nice day, temperature is - 3, sun should shine and warm up things up later. I'm off to town for my normal Wednesday. Let's hope it goes better than last week. We'll just try to push that out of our mind and think of a better day to come with lots accomplished. By the weekend it looks like it's going to warm up and into next week, maybe the weather sites will be right.
Tuesday was a back to wearing boots day! More snow during the morning but by afternoon it was melting quickly. Doesn't mean we still can't be darn tired of it. Started putting the book together - in one document - still have lots to do but we are making great headway whether or not the author believes me! Cleaned the kitchen, made a pot of chili and brown bread rolls. Cathy stopped for coffee in the afternoon on her way home, will miss our weekly chats when I go back to work. I fed her and sent her home with chili for Harold and the extra rolls (can't have those sitting around waiting to be eaten).
The yard and feeders have been full these days. As it was snowing yesterday they were all singing and tweeting away. Maybe they do know something that we don't.
These Goldfinches look a little scruffy but it's because they are changing to their summer colors.
They weren't bothered by the snow.
Love the way you can see the yellow band  on this Pine Siskin's wing.
Junco in the Christmas Tree.
And a Starling stopped by.
Harriett the Grackle has a not too pleased look on her face.
Imagine my surprise when I spied these Crocus' - they'll probably pop open today.
The Woodcock hung around all day til I went out to feed him (boiled eggs shredded up) and then of course I scared him off.

Enjoy your day!
