Day 101 - 11th April 2015 - Fox Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Woodcock and Junco

Ugh I hate getting up so early on the weekend. On a plus side the temperature is up to +6 this morning and it's foggy (snow eater).Rain has almost stopped and looks likes it's going to clear and be a nice day. Rah! Sounds like a day to escape with Big B and see what's out there. Maybe a drive to Cape Sable or Hemeon's Head not sure where we'll go. Dirts roads are going to be pretty muddy and soft after the rain yesterday so maybe we'll stick mostly to paved. I've got the urge to walk some beaches so it doesn't really matter. Here in Shelburne County we have lots of those and you never know what we may find.
A rainy, cold day to finish the week off. Lexi and I got out once for a run - getting wet needless to say and she had no interest in going out again and neither did I. The grass patches and feeders are a flurry of activity with more birds arriving daily. The new ones will replace those that will leave soon. The Woodcock seemed happy all afternoon and evening. I continued with the book - the 1960's were a tad bit frustrating - there seemed to be a fair number of teachers that just migrated through and didn't stay. It's difficult to figure out who people with the first names of Mrs. or Miss were. I'm being a tad bit sarcastic - it was part of the era when women never seemed to be called by their given name. I also managed to fit in a bit more cleaning.
There are 8 Juncos now, flitting between feeders and the grass.
Happy Goldfinch - he got the seed!
The Fox Sparrow - there are 3 of them now.

He has a lot of grey on his head and down through his back.
Woodcock appeared back after lunch, seems like he's doing ok.
The Robins just seem to ignore him. But then maybe they don't see him!
Lousy photo, but the Red-winged Blackbird was back with the Grackles around supper time.

Song Sparrow - There are at least 4 of these.

Enjoy your day!
