A rainy, cold day to finish the week off. Lexi and I got out once for a run - getting wet needless to say and she had no interest in going out again and neither did I. The grass patches and feeders are a flurry of activity with more birds arriving daily. The new ones will replace those that will leave soon. The Woodcock seemed happy all afternoon and evening. I continued with the book - the 1960's were a tad bit frustrating - there seemed to be a fair number of teachers that just migrated through and didn't stay. It's difficult to figure out who people with the first names of Mrs. or Miss were. I'm being a tad bit sarcastic - it was part of the era when women never seemed to be called by their given name. I also managed to fit in a bit more cleaning.
There are 8 Juncos now, flitting between feeders and the grass.
Happy Goldfinch - he got the seed!
He has a lot of grey on his head and down through his back.
Woodcock appeared back after lunch, seems like he's doing ok.
The Robins just seem to ignore him. But then maybe they don't see him!
Lousy photo, but the Red-winged Blackbird was back with the Grackles around supper time.
Song Sparrow - There are at least 4 of these.
Enjoy your day!
