Temperature is 0 and the stars are all out this morning. Looks like another beautiful spring day on the horizon. Two days in a row are awesome! I've got to spent a little time this morning doing my Sunday lunch box cooking and then I think we'll head off again. No idea where we'll go today.
We had a great day on Saturday. Headed out to Cape Sable Island in the morning, found the Brant Geese and a Savannah Sparrow at the Hawk Beach. Daniel's Head offered more Brants and numerous Common Eiders. Had lunch at West Head Take Out - no clams but I had the Scallops and Chips and Larry the Fish and Chips, neither on our diet but 1 bad/good meal per week probably won't kill us. We had some broiled salmon with salad for supper and we both went for walks when we got home. Although the beach walks should have sufficed.
Savannah Sparrow feeding along the seaweed.
Discovered a few Brant Geese at the Hawk Beach.
They were patient with me for a few minutes then flew off.
We walked through the Drowned Forest.
I love the kelp and rockweed that the sea throws up on the beach.
And the surf was rough.
Rather amazing where some of this grows.
I'm thinking this is a 1st winter Ringed-bill Gull. He was hanging out in the parking lot at North East Point Beach.
We arrived home to a new visitor in the yard - Brown head Cowbird.
Enjoy your day!
