Day 100 - 10th April 2015 - Goldfinches, Starlings, Redpolls and Crocuses

Already 100 days have gone by this year. With the miserable winter we've had I'm surprised it's gone so fast. Temperature is -1, rain on it's way for today. Hoping there is enough to remove the rest of this snow! Then we are suppose to have some warmer temperatures and sunny days - could spring finally be here? It's Friday, weekend is almost here, going to try getting out somewhere Saturday or Sunday for a roam - maybe a beach or two. But today it's back to work on the book and a little more spring cleaning.
After it snowed all morning, the sun popped out and did it's job. Things melted up quickly and by supper time I could see my grass patches again. The Woodcock returned, but didn't stay long. A big Crow scared him off. A flurry of activity in the yard all day with Goldfinches, Redpolls, Pine Siskins, Blue Jays, Chickadees, Song Sparrows, Juncos, Woodpeckers, Mourning Doves (who need to get a motel room), Grackles, Starlings and a new lifer for me - Fox Sparrow.

Every day the Goldfinches get more colorful.
The Blue Jay hardly looks impressed with the snow.
And there are a few Starlings.
There are 8 Juncos now, this guy found a spot to rest.
You can see the nicely marked pattern on the back of the Male Hairy Woodpecker.
The Female preferred the feeders to the suet.
I'm guessing the Redpolls will soon disappear.
The Crocus' blooms are beginning to open.
The snow has not stopped the tulips and daffodils.

Enjoy your day!
