Day 136 - 16th May 2015 - Chipping Sparrow, Humming Bird and Wild Violets

The fog has rolled in once again this morning, temperature is +4. Amazing when I got up at 4:30 am (yes it's Saturday) there was no fog but before 5:30 it was thick as pea soup. It will disappear and be another beautiful day. I would love to go to Cape Sable Island this morning, but we've got to head in the other direction. Off in the direction of Little Harbour, Larry's promised to do a bit of work for a friend, so he needs to check that out and we'll get in some birding too. As always I'm hoping for Warblers and Shorebirds.
Lots accomplished on Friday, felt good leaving the office at the end of the day/week knowing some items were crossed off my list of things to do. Weather was gorgeous - sunny and warm just like it should be. Went for a walk after supper but like the morning - nothing. Although all the wild flowers and ferns are beginning to emerge from the ground, trees are leaving out and beginning to bloom. Hence it creates allergy season. Oh well no complaints, I can still remember the ice, snow and cold from a few months ago.
Chipping Sparrow visited the feeders yesterday morning.
Female Purple Finch, there are lots of Finches in the yard and they seem to spend all day.
Wild Pear or Wild Cherry, I can never remember which.
Both the white and purple wild Violets are in bloom.
He seems to be a Hummingbird with a little attitude.
He was keeping an eye on the feeder at Lois' last evening.
More ferns are emerging.

Enjoy your day!
