Day 135 - 15th May 2015 - Sunrise, Fog, Loon and Grandmother's Journal

It's Friday, temperature is +1 but no frost here. Last day of the work week before a long weekend - Rah! Lots of things at work today, I want to finish up and a few things to starts. Going to be a busy day, would be nice if it was quiet.
Turned out to be a gorgeous day on Thursday after that initial chill in the morning. My morning walk was fairly dull, thought for sure I'd find some Warblers but it was not to be. Not sure why the hood is so quiet. I did get a good walk in, tried again after supper but still nothing.
Grandmother's Journal:
14th May 1976: Worked until 3 o'clock. Brought a load and stayed all night. Here to stay now. [MC]. Rained hard in night. Worried, Tom has been gone since Wednesday, should be back if he's alive. No idea what happened to him. Bob got a parking ticket in front of W.W. Store.
15th May 1976: I went to town to get a load from the house, left here 9:30. Lot of water on the road. Heavy rain in the night. Bob, Bettie,Mike & Bobbie walked out to old MC road to see if Tom was out that way. No sign of him. Can't understand it. Lots of buds on apple trees. Everything looks good. I am really tired tonight, worked really hard getting a load and putting it away here home, MC.
[Tom was missing for several months, when he was found he had a snare that someone had not taken in at the end of trapping season around his hind leg - as luck would have it after a stay at the Vets he recovered without losing his leg]
The sun was pretty cool coming through the trees with a hint of fog.

Lot of fog over the lake, but it didn't take long to lift.
The Beaver was having a morning snack.
I think I startled him. He splashed his big tail and motored off.
Loon in the harbour, he was quite close to the seawall.
More Tulips - in front of the Coast Guard Office.

Enjoy your day!
