Day 61 - 2nd March 2017 - Signs of Spring

March arrived yesterday rather dull and dreary - foggy old day with some drizzle but not a lot of rain. It was mild and I didn't build a fire in the furnace until almost supper time. More wood for next year. I had a deer meat stew simmering on the back of the stove all afternoon, making my stomach growl for an early supper but I held off. Some what disappointing was the package of "stew vegetables" I bought - really the farmer should have been embarrassed to package those up. No parsnips, a few very sad looking carrots, a couple of turnips and a cabbage that had certainly seen better days. It's so hard to purchase good produce at Sobeys! I passed a good portion of the day doing database entry, which I'll continue with today. Maybe by next week I'll have it done and can move on to the picture portion of the project.

Enjoy your day!

  1. I get so excited seeing all the signs of spring but I fear that they're arriving too early.
