Day 42 - 11th February 2017 - Evening Grosbeaks and Goldfinches

Beautiful but cold morning out there - owls are up the road hooting, stars are twinkling, moon is full. The snow  looks like jewels sparkling in the street light. I'm working today, so off to town and will pick up a few groceries on the way home providing there is anything left on the shelves. Another storm on the way Sunday night/Monday morning. Winter has set in and next week looks like several storms in the forecast.
Friday was kind of a lackluster day. Too cold and windy  to enjoy snowshoeing, it was all I could do to bundle up and take Lexi for a run and she wasn't keen on going too far. So we hung in the house, chasing a few cobwebs, some computer work and various other household chores I really didn't want to do. Of course there is always time spent at the kitchen window watching the birds at the feeders. Lots of activity but no one new joining the existing flocks. We went out to the Friday Night Club aka Talk Show, Gossip group or UN meeting- depending on which of the members you ask. Oh it's just a couple of hours of fun discussing current events although I drank too much regular tea and was awake half the night and then up too early this morning. Long day on the horizon!
The Male Evening Grosbeak is having a bit of a bad hair day
Goldfinches top the Christmas tree

Female Evening Grosbeak - I see a seed!
Yup, it's there - got it!

Enjoy your day!
