Day 39 - 8th February 2015 - Blue Jays, Snow, Chickadee and a Bow

Not as cold this morning, only -9. The sun is getting warmer and it doesn't get as dark quite so early now. Looks like more snow most of this week, not sure yet what we will get for amounts, but time will tell. More shoveling. I'm thankful that a neighbour plows us out most times - it makes life a little bit better.  Think I'll try for a longer walk this morning before the hood is all up and mobile. I like the peace and solitude of the woods.
More snow yesterday morning and internet out for another 4 1/2  hours. It's getting discouraging. Larry put some wood in the basement from the woodshed. It's a never ending task, the basement doesn't hold enough for the entire winter. I don't think we've used as much as most years, but time will tell. Went to town for the weekly groceries and gas up the truck - the price is crawling up again. A few things around the house, some computer work and a short walk around the hood rounded out my day. Larry had to spent an hour beating icicles off the house - old houses have lots of issues.
My lone Junco - every faithful spends most of the day.
The Blue Jays - aka Blue Bandits - the snow doesn't bother them.
At least there were only about 12 of them instead of 30 that I counted one day. They can clean a feeder quickly, but their bright blue is a nice contrast against the snow.
The early morning sunlight trickled gently across the snow covered branches.
Blue skies arrived.
Everything was coated in white, including the lake.
Not sure if he had a seed hidden in a branch but it looked like that's what he pulled out.
The bow on my wreath is filled with snow and covered with icicles, but the red is a welcome pop of color.

Enjoy your day!
