Day 44 - 13th February 2016 - Junco, Mourning Dove and Chipping Sparrow

Has started snowing - the fine stuff is gently coming down. The weather sites aren't giving any great amount and I hope they are right. However, they are giving a Nor'east wind and the birds were feeding heavy at the feeders yesterday so we'll see what comes.  We went in last night after supper and did our shopping - nice to have it out of the way. Larry has plans sometime over the weekend to put more wood in the basement from the woodshed, I've got my normal routine.
I love watching the birds in the yard - sometimes it's hard to get anything done standing in the kitchen window or very still on the deck. Yesterday was no exception.  Juncos, Mourning Doves, Blue Jays, Woodpeckers, Chickadees, Goldfinches, Purple Finches, 1 Song Sparrow, 1 White Throated Sparrow, 1 Chipping Sparrow, White Breasted Nuthatch and Red Breasted Nuthatch. And of course a couple of squirrels thrown into the mix. There is one Junco who seems to be trying to set up his territory - he frequently will chase the others off but they go no distance. Maybe he's just a grumpy old guy.
One of 7 Juncos who spent the day in the yard.
The Chipping Sparrow is still around, he spends the day and seems to be friendlier and less cautious.
Of course there are lots of Chickadees.
And Mourning Doves.

My favourite shot of my morning roam.

Enjoy your day!
