Day 162 - 10th June 2016 - Red-Eyed Vireo, the Lake and Lady Slippers

It's Friday and my day off. Of course that means some roaming the hood, I'm sure Lexi will be glad to have me home. Guess a little housework is needed, but if the weather is fine, I'm spending as much of my day outside as possible. Working on the weekend, so will need to get a few things done. Beginning to get a routine together once again.
We had our first class tour yesterday morning. Oh what fun, I stepped out of my comfort zone and conquered another of my fears!  Great little primary class. This job is definitely good for me and I'm hoping I'm going to be good at it. It blew like a hurricane all day, not what you would call a warm summer day, although technically we are still in spring for a few more weeks. Got in a good morning walk, a few birds but hard to find them with the wind. Heard the usual suspects - Ovenbirds, Hermit Thrushes, Red-Eyed Vireos, Woodpeckers and a few Warblers.

A beauty along my walk, not sure what kind of bush is it, I was thinking Weigela but not sure.

The Red-Eyed Vireo loves to hide among the leaves and branches.

The skies weren't all that pretty, clouds rolling along.
Lady Slippers in the woods, the like a bit of shelter and coolness but aren't usually hard to find.

Enjoy your day!
