Day 160 - 8th June 2016 - Hermit Thrush, Common Yellowthroat Warbler and Grandmother's Journal

Rain during the night and probably more this morning, hopefully it clears later. We can use some rain, more rocks are appearing in the lake as the water level drops and it keeps the forest fire index down. Of course it saves from watering the garden, it's coming along well now. Seeds are sprouting and popping up, can't wait til we can begin eating fresh vegetables again.
Another fabulous day at work. Things are moving along really well and I'm getting settled into the new position. Making some headway re-organizing the home front routine too.
Grandmother's Journal:
7 Jun 1977:Rain and cold, same everyday. To town as usual. Hair done today, so home late. Over to Gertrude's for tea and a couple of crib games. Gertrude over tonight. Still raining and foggy.
8 June 1977: Bob & Tom to town with me this morning. Raining and Foggy. Came out fine around noon. Lovely at bed time. Very windy this afternoon. Cold when wind blows. Bob sprayed until supper time. Gertrude and I played crib this afternoon. Walls up tonight, Ena, Gertrude and I played crib. Red Sox game tonight.
Doesn't sound like the weather is too different from our last few days.
Pollen is on the lake.

Hiding out - Hermit Thursh

Not sure if there is a nest here or if the Hairy Woodpecker is just checking for grubs.

Cute and curious - the Common Yellowthroat Warbler

Enjoy your day!
