Day 99 - 9th April 2018 - Purple Finch, Grackle and Mallards

A quiet early morning, stars are twinkling in the otherwise dark sky. It's Monday once again, the work week begins. Started snowing yesterday before noon but by early evening at stopped. Beautiful sunset. For all that it did snow, didn't seem to amount to a lot and hopefully the sun will make quick work of it today.  Sunday was the usual - lunch box prep, muffins, laundry etc. for me. Larry finished blocking up wood so if we ever get some good weather again he'll haul out that new wood splitter and do the next step. Love the wood heat - so much work to it though. I think he's got a head start on the next season.  Weather doesn't look too bad this week, maybe spring will reappear. I've got to buckle down and do sewing and whirligig painting these next two weeks. Neither of which I'm excited about but they need to get done- you know "don't put off tomorrow what you can do today". Yeah! Soon the Warblers will be migrating and I will want to roam the woods and then it will be time to go back to work.

Male Purple Finch - stunning fellow
After supper the Grackles all came in.
And the birds kept getting bigger - glad this female Mallard didn't try to fit into a feeder.
Her mate watched over her while she foraged for seeds.

Enjoy your day!
