Day 102 - 12th April 2018 - Canada Geese, Chickadee and Grandmother's Journal

Looks  a little frosty out there this morning but the stars are all out so hopefully another nice day. Weather sites say sun and clouds so probably pretty good. Wednesday was beautiful, warmed up as the day went on. I spent the morning in the sewing room, then roamed the hood and had lunch on the deck enjoying the birds in the yard. By afternoon I decided to take advantage of the sun and worked a while out in the yard. So many branches etc. have fallen over the winter. Today would have been Grandmother's 100th birthday, hard to believe she's been gone 10 years but lived a long and full life in good health. I'm so lucky to have her journals which jog my memory of family and local events or just the weather.
Grandmother's Journal:
12 April 1977 - To town as usual, Bob went to pick up Mervyn to work on Fridge. Tonight _ _ (can't read her writing) Barb & Judy over. beautiful day afternoon. Cold and overcast early looked like rain or snow. Bed late. Glad to see the girls.
13 April 1977 - Cold over night. Everything white this morning. I left 20 to 8 o'clock in town at 8:25. Road bad, rough. Home just after 2 o'clock. Worked trying to get cleaned up and settled in. Still much to do. Bob getting ground ready for trees.
14 April 1977  Swallows! Supposed to rain Bob went to town with me. Came out fine. North westerly winds, cold. Bob had another shot in his arm. Bob heard swallows today, couldn't see them.
I never get tired of the watching the Canada Geese.
Lots of Chickadees on my walk.
And Red Breasted Nuthatches.

Enjoy your day!
