Day 101 - 11th April 2018 - Purple Finches, Goldfinches and Hairy Woodpecker

A little chilly this morning, but no wind and the sky is full of stars. Looks lovely and clear - maybe another fine day.  The Geese just flew down the lake -  their honking breaking the morning silence - they must be looking for an early breakfast. These days it seems to be warmer outside than in the house. I finally gave in a built a fire early yesterday afternoon. Maybe to today I'll do one in the morning to warm the house up and let it go out later. All day the birds serenade me in the back yard - the Grackles with their rusty hinges sound, Blue Jays squawking, Mourning Doves cooing, then chatter of Goldfinches and Purple Finch. The Song Sparrows who only number two pitch in with their sweet song and of course the Chickadees with a "cheeseburger" periodically. A number of Blue Jay feathers tell me that the Hawk was in for a visit as well - such is the circle of life. Back to the sewing room today and maybe I'll pick up a paint brush later and tackle Whirligigs too.

I was trying to capture the morning sun coming through the branches but found a Purple Finch too.
Hair Woodpecker on the power pole  - he was getting a little close to the breaker but didn't hit it.
Purple Finch with Goldfinches.

Enjoy your day!
