Day 154 - 4th June 2018 - Twin Flowers, Trillium and Lady Slipper

Feels cold enough this morning that the forecasts might just be right about a frost. Larry went out and covered things up just in case, especially didn't want to lose the tomato plants. Back to work this morning. Looks like it will turn out fine. Sunday was pretty cool in the morning but did warm up by mid afternoon then cooled down again after supper.  Birds were mostly quiet on our drive to Brier Hill, we made a few stops along the way - Red Eyed Vireos, Magnolia Warbler, Song Sparrows, Swallows but most wanted to hang higher in the trees.  A couple of Broad Wing Hawks and a Sharp Shinned Hawk in flight. So bird trip wasn't great, but there are a lot of wild flowers in bloom right now. It was a good visit with Barb and Darryl, I always love going there - lots of fond childhood memories for the area. Home in the afternoon - Larry in the woodpile - oh how he loves that woodsplitter, I puttered around, roamed the hood some and had a visit with Lois after supper.

My favourite wild flowers - Twin Flowers, so small they can be easily missed but they are very fragrant.

I almost missed the Trillium this year, should have checked last week as there was only a few still in bloom

Lady Slippers are in bloom too, hiding in shadows of the woods.

Enjoy your day!
