Day 214 - 6th August 2017 - Dowitchers, Red Knots and Yellowlegs

We had a great Saturday! After the fog lifted, turned out to be a beauty of a day. Didn't move too fast in the morning, let Larry have a bit of a sleep in (7:30am - imagine!), breakfast, then stopped in town to say goodbye to my cousin before they headed on to the next leg of their trip. We went out to Sandhills Beach. Fabulous time - we had the beach to ourselves for over an hour with lots of shorebirds to chase. Nothing better than walking barefoot, playing in the water and finding birds. The only downer to our morning was Larry got a bad sunburn on his legs - poor guy! Back home in the afternoon to do a little housework, supper and then off to play aggravation - no win on Chase the Ace, we get to try again in a couple of weeks. Best of all we had a little rain over night, still some this morning.
