Day 207 - 30th July 2017 - Birds and Whales

It was great to have a day off and just have fun! The fog lifted yesterday not long after we boarded the Georgie Porgie to go whale watching. Lots of whales and birds around. Anyone that went out yesterday I'm sure had a successful trip as there were whales around every boat that we saw. We found 7 whales and a few porpoises  but Larry had binoculars and spied a couple more further away. There were Great Shearwaters, Phalaropes, Gannets, Wilson Storm Petrels, Sooty Shearwater, a Puffin. So a good day for birds too.  Had lunch when we got back, then Larry and Roger puttered around fixing a few things - Larry always brings tools, Dorothy was at the Archives/Museum so I walked down and visited with her then roamed around some on my own. This morning we'll head back home, seems the weekend goes by super fast but there are things to do this afternoon to get ready for the work week ahead.
 Lots of Great Shearwater's around.
Everyone cheers when their tails go up

I got a little Whale snot on me from this one
Wilson Storm - petrel. They were fun to watch as they danced on the water.
One Puffin, but he wouldn't come close
Cool to have two of them next to the boat. The one in the front is named Cloud.

Enjoy your day!
