Day 86 - 27th March 2018 - Great Egret

Beautiful morning out there - cold but every star is  sparkling in the sky! I spent most of yesterday in the kitchen, baking and doing up lunches for Larry. I did get out for a roam in the hood. Even with a NE wind, the sun is stronger and it felt warmer. Hopefully today it will finish melting the snow in the yard. I finally caught up with the Great Egret that was at the Sandy Point causeway. Larry saw him in the little cove on his way home, so after supper we headed back down again. By that time he'd moved over to the harbour side - such a thrill to watch this elegant creature fishing. It's a great rush and now I just want to go birding all the time again.

He was catching lots of little fish or other wiggly things in the water.

Those big feet, went gently in and out of the water as he stalked his prey.

Enjoy your day!
