Day 142 - 2nd July 2018 - Common Yellowthroat, Muskrat and Willet

Looks a little foggy out there this morning but suppose to be another hot day. The weather site has a big red "Heat Warning" bar - so use common sense and drink lots of water if you are out enjoying the rest of the long weekend. Larry and I had a great Sunday.  We decided to go to Blanche so headed down through Gunning Cove (the round about way), stopped at Crane's Point and a few other side roads on our way. I was surprised down through Thomasville, Port Clyde that there were no Yellow Legs or other shore birds in the the ponds. We did spy some Warblers at Blanche but nothing new, still it was a fun morning out. The afternoon was pretty lazy - I went for a swim - the lake was refreshing and felt good. A little time on the deck with my kobo, Larry puttered around but it was too hot to do much. I did get some laundry done and his muffins made for work this week. Not sure what direction we'll head this morning.

Common Yellowthroat singing

Muskrat was gathering weeds

An unhappy Willet. There were a pair of them and their youngsters were out playing- so they didn't want us around.

Enjoy your day!
