Day 173 - 22nd June 2014 - Yellow Warbler, Iris, Peony and Cedar Waxwing

Looks like another fine day, although they are giving "a chance of showers" - it's Sunday they can keep that until tonight. The Humming birds are early risers and out to the feeder shortly after 5 am. I can hear the Song Sparrows singing nearby this morning. No idea what we are doing today, but I guess it better involved catching up on some laundry and a quick whip around with the broom. Larry will probably spend some time in the woodpile. The woodshed is almost full but that's only half of the wood we will use for the winter. The rest needs to be blocked and split, by August it starts going in the basement.
Had a fabulous day on Saturday. A trip to town - groceries, Larry cut some limbs hanging over the garage at  my parents and then back home. Quick walk around the hood. Headed to Upper Clyde for the Boiled lobster meal - lots of salads and desserts to go with it. Oh it was so good and I love that little hall. It was originally build years ago as a one-room School House and you can still see some of the original features. Got to eat and visit with our friends. Walked back to the river afterwards, lots of birds but Irene and Larry talk too much but that's ok. Finally some Yellow Warblers, although most of them were flitting around pretty quickly, I did managed a couple of shots.
Northern Parula singing his heart out.
Not sure but this might be Witherod or Wild Raisin.
We still have some Cedar Waxwings playing around in the Willow trees in the yard.
Wild Iris or commonly called Blue Flag. I think this is one of my favourite shots from Saturday.

Yellow Warbler down in the grasses and I didn't dare get too close.
 He was fun to watch.
These two Swallows reminded me of the Old Men in the balcony on the Muppet show.
Barb's Peony is going to be gorgeous this year.

Irene's Dogwood is blooming.

Enjoy your day!
