Day 93 - 3rd April 2018 - Red Breasted Nuthatch, Goldfinches and Purple Finches

Chilly this morning but looks like a nice day on the horizon. Owls are hooting across the lake, other than that it's pretty quiet out there this morning. As the sun comes up over the lake, sounds increase - Song Sparrows singing sweetly, a Loon calls from the lake, Crows are talking back and forth and Ducks looking for breakfast.  Soon I'll hear by favourite songster - the Hermit Thrush. The flock of Grackles are steadily increasing - I counted 18 yesterday, as are the Purple Finches. The Goldfinches are getting into their summer colors - their dullness is turning bright yellow. Did some lunch box prep yesterday, laundry etc. A walk in the hood was quiet- more activity in my back yard. Leaving for a 2-day workshop in Joggins tomorrow, so still have to get my suitcase packed and that stuff this morning.

Red Breasted Nuthatch, doubles as a Christmas tree topper.
