Day 140 - 19th May 2016 - Tulips, Northern Parula and Yellow Rumped Warbler

Birds are singing, an Owl is hooting up the road and the sun is lazily rising over the lake. Going to be another good day.  I'm travelling with Larry the next few days so it means no morning walk in the hood. Will see if I can get in a short jaunt around town.
What a wonderful day I had off - warm, sunny, just a little breeze. I guess with the change in temperature and wind the Baltimore Oriole decided to pack up her luggage and move on out. Larry gets his oranges once again. The yard is so busy with birds - Purple Finches,Goldfinches, Grackles, Red-Winged Blackbirds, Chickadees, Blue Jays, Evening Grosbeak, Yellow Rumped Warblers, Hummingbirds and Tree Swallows. Yes the Tree Swallows appear to have moved into the Bird house. They were guarding it fiercely against another pair. Sadly the woods don't seem to be near as active with bird life. Hopefully in the next few days things will get livelier. Did a little housework, made up a pot of soup and some biscuits and relaxed a little on the deck.
With all the sun Wednesday, the tulips were wide open.

Enjoy your day!
