Day 69 - 9th March 2016 - Hairy Woodpecker, Pileated Woodpecker and Chipping Sparrow

Can hear several Owls this morning hooting back and forth. A little nippy but the sky is filled with stars. Think the day will warm up and be another nice one. Well it's Wednesday and my town day. Have a couple of meetings this morning, some errands, volunteer work etc. Going to be a busy day.
The sun came out warm and strong melting the snow on the trees quickly. The lake opened back up. Temperatures were up - spring was in the air once again.  Lots of birds at the feeders in the morning. I continued in the cleaning business, did some cooking and had company.
Walking through the woods as the snow melted and showered down.
Was a good day for Woodpeckers - Hairy.
First I heard the Pileated Woodpecker after a short chase he stopped here for a moment. No I don't think that house is big enough.
Then he flew and landed on another pole, meanwhile a second one flew by which might have been a female. The male has a red mustache as you see here.
The Chipping Sparrows still comes and goes.

Enjoy your day!
