Day 141 - 21st May 2014 - Apple Blossoms, Squirrel and Mallard

A thick layer of fog this morning but you can still hear all the birds singing, the Woodpecker having breakfast and the loon in the lake. Beautiful sounds to begin the day. I think it will burn off and be a nice day. Hopefully we'll also get some wind to ward off the black flies. I slept better last night - the pain woke me a few times but not as much as it has been. Maybe I am finally turning a corner. Home today, a little roaming with Lexi and some housework. Will just see how it goes.
An interesting unproductive day on Tuesday. Thought I'd check in to see my Doctor and have her look at my eye. Am a bit concerned as my vision is not what it normally is and my eyeglasses bother it. She was at Outpatients so down I trucked - 3 hours of sitting and she gave me a prescription for pain meds and referred me on to an eye specialist. This is my shooting (camera) eye so definitely nothing to fool with. Good news - I'm into the specialist in Yarmouth on Thursday afternoon.
Apple Blossoms are beginning to show up.
 Another of those sassy Squirrels.
Just a lone male Mallard. Not much sign of the females these days, but they should soon have cute little ducklings around the lake.
 A small Rhododendron.
I probably should know what these are but have forgotten.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Forget Me Nots are the blue flower. I have those too. I planted a weigela last night by the deck for the birds and hummingbirds. The freaking cats just sit under my feeders at the back of the yard and piss me off. I need protection closer to the house for the birds. My daughter had shingles near/in her eye and so did a friend of mine. They were lucky enough that there was no damage to the eye. I hope you get the same report. Enjoy your day the best you can. Glad you slept better last night.
