Mild this morning again, +10.8 and I can see red sky breaking through. Rain today and tomorrow, so that will curtail my activities. Larry's off with a bunch from the fire department to cut and split a friend's wood, who lost her husband this winter. Small communities look after their own. I'll do a few things around here and then maybe have a bit of a nap. If it's not raining to hard this afternoon we'll try to take Lexi for a drive and run to see if we can find any birds.
Saturday wasn't so bad overall, still itching and pain but I chilled a bit and even laid down in the afternoon to rest my eye. Kenny came over and got the new kitchen taps installed - yeah the ones with duct tape are gone! We did grocery shopping, etc. I managed a couple short jaunts around the hood - it's still not easy to take photos and seems to tire my eye out. Larry worked out doors and finished his greenhouse. After supper we drove over to visit friends in Upper Clyde - a most enjoyable evening of catching up and lots of laughter, just what the doctor ordered - relaxation! Unfortunately it was to bed late and up early.
I'm seeing more Northern Parulas around.
The Blue Jay drinking from the bird bath.
The Rhodora is beginning to bloom.
A Ruffed Grouse in the road on our way to Upper Clyde.
Irene's Bleeding Heart is quite beautiful.
And she has a Rhododendron in bloom.
And we found a Porcupine on our travels.
Not great photos of these Tree Swallows but they were taken from the truck.
They were so much fun to watch/
From Barb's gardens. So many pretty blossoms now.
And the sun had just about finished setting over the river as we were leaving.
Enjoy your day!
Sunset over the river ..beautiful. Had a peculiar looking dude on the lawn yesterday bigger than a dove and much more brown looked to be some speckles of darker brown. Oh well will see if he comes back. We have two nests of what I assume are black birds near Billy's garage. Kind of fun to watch them rushing in and out and looking at me from the roof. Hope you are on the mend.
