Day 135 - 14th May 2012 - Apple Blossoms, the Geese and more Spring flowers

Hey it's Monday again! Where does the week go? Temperature is +9.5 so it promises to be a warm day, too dark to tell about much else but I think it's suppose to be nice. Back to the grind this morning. Feels like my little getaway was a hundred years ago now, but it was good to be home again. Getaways are really only good if they aren't too often and not too long, otherwise they become routine like the rest of your life. I don't think I'll get back in the city during the summer, but will need to go later in the fall. For now it will be lots of hard work over the summer months and enjoying life in the country. Maybe we'll manage a few days trips here or there to scope out some more Nova Scotia hidden gems.

Turned out to be a nice day, Sunday, a bit humid but sun was out. However, the black flies are just pure evil and I saw a mosquito - need some very warm weather to vanish these nasty creatures! Visited our Moms and delivered plants to each of them. Other than that it was a day of catch up around the house.  Out for a walk, late afternoon, hard to stop long enough to take a few photos without get chewed up.
The apple tree in the back yard is just full of blossoms this year. It's an old tree and the apples aren't very good or I don't think they are. I just can't quite capture the look of this tree the way I should. More practice I guess. The joy of digital cameras, you have your image instantly!
The Rhodora is really blooming out now.
The ducks were swimming along like little soldiers all in a row!
A little afternoon rest on the rock. He appears to be ever watchful, or maybe that's the female and the male is napping.........ummmm!
This looks like Lily of the Valley, but we should know for sure fairly soon. It looks like those buds will soon be open.
Yellow Rocket, maybe. Guess I need to brush up on my plants, used to know most all of them at one time. Best dig out my books!
I see daylight coming,  a tad foggy out there, but that will leave soon. Time to get the day underway.
Enjoy your day!

  1. Looks like in your picture of the geese someone else enjoys sitting down by the lake watching the action judging by the lawn chair! Don't blame them, think I'd be down there all the time.
