Wednesday felt like one of those "calm" before the storm days. Everything was very quiet, not a breath of wind and had an eerie feeling. Don't think there is a storm for today but they are forecasting some rain. It's welcoming as the swamps, lakes and ditches still aren't quite filled to where they should be for this time of year. I was thrilled to have 8 Evening Grosbeaks in the yard yesterday morning. We used to have large flocks of them all winter, but the last few years there have only been a few and not on a regular basis. Hoping the Redpolls return this winter too, it's been at least 2 years since they've wintered here. So today will be a continuation of baking - managed to get 16 dozen cookies done yesterday, although they still need to be decorated. That's a job that's easiest done before I start packing things up and putting the together in tins and boxes to be given away.

The moss remains so green - like the contrast against the brown leaves.
Not a wrinkle on the lake.
Enjoy your day!
