Temperature is -0.9 this morning, suppose to be a few flurries or a few showers - take your pick. Someone said yesterday that the hardiest thing about this winter was the lack of sunshine - I tend to agree, it really makes you feel out of sorts. Gray days do not make you feel good. Well it's Wednesday and my town day, have a lot on my plate today. Things to get done and people to see but am hopeful I can still accomplish a fair amount.
Well the wonkiness (definite medical term) finally left my stomach yesterday afternoon, which was a good thing. It stayed rather cold and windy - spit snow or ice in the morning. Lexi and I roamed around the hood - a short walk before the ice left the ground, then a longer one in the afternoon. Not a whole lot around but nice to see the ducks coming back and less and less ice in the lake. Pretty well all gone now just a little along the shorelines. Spent a good hour in the morning sitting on the kitchen floor in front of the window watching for that Hawk to come in, was sure he would especially with a Mourning Dove around the feeders but he was a no show. The feeders on the other had were busy. Finally some good activity. Got the Living room cleaned - another one crossed off the list, some other chores finished and a casserole made for supper with leftovers for Wednesday night.
Lots of activity in the feeders and around the yard...finally! There are several Red-breasted Nuthatches now.
5 or 6 Evening Grosbeaks spent most of the morning.
A couple of White Breasted Nuthatches and a Woodpecker.
Nice to see a variety sharing.
The Juncos and Song Sparrow were in the driveway - not sure what they were finding there.
The Mallards are all around the lake now.
Just a little bit of ice left. White caps on the lake today!
Lots of my Spring Bulbs have broken through.
More blooms on the way.
Enjoy your day!
