Happy Birthday to our four legged child - Lexi, she's 5 years old today. Seems like yesterday she was just a pup. No I don't want to go back to those days - as much as I love her there was too much energy in the early days. Well it's raining but promises to clear by noon, I'm assuming that's a sign to get my housework done this morning. I really should make some gingerbread whoopie pies as I owe the bestie big time this week. I'll see what transpires as the morning goes on. Still have a scratchy throat but it's no worse and I did sleep much better last night. Thank goodness.
Tuesday was a beautiful warm day again! Well the day didn't go quite as planned - had some power problems so we got to play hooky in the afternoon. Flies were vicious when I went for my walk after supper, so I didn't go far, but I was gone quite a while. Nice to chat with Linda and her crew at the cottage and see a beaver in the lake. Then I stopped, had tea and caught up with Lois. So sometimes it takes me awhile to get around the hood but it's all good. So nice living in the country around people you can stop and visit for a minute when you are haunting the hood.
A Red Eyed Vireo I caught in the morning walking over to meet Nancy. Also saw a Myrtle Warbler.
Scotch Broom - found this down near where Larry works - really pretty but a real nuisance.
These were near his workplace too - so pretty. Love roses.
Some of my Iris'.
The Beaver - seemed like quite a big guy, still trying to find that baby in the other cove!
A Hermit Thrush - new to my list.
Enjoy your day!
Happy Birthday to the Princess ...only fitting that you are home with her today!
ReplyDeleteCould not agree more with the "friendly hood" and let's face it Lois has some beautiful flowers!
Nice to see a few photos from the working hood.
I am up and ready for the day ....you have a good one!
I would love to live in a neighbourhood where the neighbours popped in for tea...
